Let it Snow!

Despite heavy snow and ice apetito Meals on Wheels drivers ensured that our customers received their meals.

 In Croydon Chefmobil drivers discovered their vans transformed into snowballs, but worked quickly to clear the snow and load the van.

 Depot Manager Sara Rogers comments:

 "Usually we finish the rounds at about 2.30pm, but with conditions yesterday the last van got in at 6pm. Naturally everyone pitched in, but we spent the vast majority of the day pushing and digging the vehicles out of the snow.

 Of course, the most important thing is that a hot meal is delivered, as we serve some of the most vulnerable sectors of society. Therefore it was critical to deliver meals by hand if we were unable to get the van close.

 We've had a good few tumbles and bruises, but we're still smiling!"

 Head of Operations, Rod McLeod was delighted by the team effort:

 "I'd just like to say a big thank you to all staff who struggled through and delivered meals yesterday and who are going out there again today."

 With more snow on the way we're preparing ourselves for a difficult few days, but you can be sure, apetito will deliver - whatever the weather!
