 The forthcoming Hull Community Meals contract is seeking a Meals on Wheels Driver Supervisor to join the team. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate successful team supervision, stock control experience, have an awareness of health and safety and be numerate and literate. You will be the Supervisor of a team of drivers who deliver a Meals on Wheels service for clients in the Hull area. As Drivers Supervisor you will be supervising the Meals on Wheels delivery team. The role is varied, and no two days will be the same. This is a challenging position and organisation is key.

The post holder should possess a full driving licence and whilst knowledge of the Hull area is helpful, the ability to read a map effectively is essential.

A full driving licence is essential.

Hours of work will be 30 hours per week

 Key responsibilities include:

1. Vehicle Issues: responsible for all the Vehicle maintenance, administration, equipment, breaks down, accident and fuel card issues etc, within the contract.
2. Vehicle Documentation: responsible for all vehicle documentation as detailed in the Transport Manual and Chef Mobil control sheets. Ensure that all documentation is completed by the specified dates and times and sent to the appropriate department

3. Ensure Correct Loading of vehicles: responsible and partake in the picking of meals for all delivery routes, as well as the responsibility of ensuring that the drivers of individual routes check their loaded vans against the round sheets before they leave the depot. Responsible for recording under and over loading of meals on rounds.

4. Driver/Personnel issues: To ensure that a rolling driver work schedule is prepared for a four-week period the schedule to be updated on a weekly basis. Reporting sickness and absenteeism to the contract Administrator/supervisor and the planning of leave Schedules. Allocating drivers and escorts to rounds on a daily basis.

5. Stock ordering/checks/deliveries.

6. May include delivering rounds when required.

 This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and an Enhanced Criminal Record check is required.
