At apetito, Learning & Development, HR and Managers work in partnership with each other to ensure development is at the heart of our business. We believe learning and development is about providing opportunities for our people to enhance their capabilities and realise their full potential.

We view learning and development as a shared responsibility between the Company and our individual employees.  You bring the drive and motivation; your manager provides support and encouragement and the company supplies the necessary tools and programmes. We design learning and development activities to support this. These focus on increasing the knowledge, experience, skills and behaviours of individuals and teams.

We believe that when colleagues have opportunities for development, they gain the capabilities, confidence and motivation to continually contribute to our present and future business success. So, our approach to career development starts with attracting talented people to our company. Within the company, we provide them with a fulfilling and stretching experience by giving them the support and resources they need to grow and to contribute to our business growth.

Part of our line managers' responsibility is to identify the training needs of his or her direct reports, match those needs to training and development opportunities and ensure that learning is transferred back into the workplace.

As well as working with external trainers, apetito are also committed to delivering in-house training across the business.  We have recently been recognised as an authorised training employer for the Institute of Chartered Accountants for England and Wales.
