To offer a flexible, personal and reliable service to a wide range of customers, luncheon clubs and day centres, whilst being able to accommodate personal preferences and provide a complete range of special dietary requirements.
Solution
Apetito provided a complete home delivery system utilising the unique apetito Chefmobil regeneration and delivery vehicle, incorporating a state-of-the-art micro processor controlled regenerating oven in the rear. Customers choose from dishes on a menu cycle and the frozen meals are loaded in the Chefmobil oven to be regenerated en-route to the first customer. Once the meals are reheated to the correct temperature the oven switches to a “hot holding” phase, which ensures that everyone from the fist to last customer on the round receives an evenly cooked meal delivered at the optimum temperature.
With such a high number of meals to be delivered each day apetito recommended implementing a frozen meal delivery service to complement the daily hot meal service. This offers more able-bodied customers the freedom to regenerate meals as and when they are needed.
In addition to the operational side of the brief, food safety was a pre-requisite. apetito’s Positive Release System ensures that no meals are released for sale or consumption until they have been batch tested and approved. At the same time all dishes are tasted daily, checked for flavour, consistency, meat content and overall quality.
apetito’s exclusive nutritional database, Nutridata also means that taste and nutritional content can be balanced in each dish – vitally important for frailer customers, or those on special diets.
