Staff foundation

In a major new initiative to give something back to the community apetito has set up an apetito “staff foundation”, with an initial £20,000 of funds to support community activities that employees or their children are involved with.

The apetito staff foundation has been set up to reflect apetito’s commitment to the communities in which we operate. It makes grants towards specific community activities that apetito staff or their children are involved with.

TROWBRIDGE RUGBY CLUB UNDER-8S

There are 25 children in the group and they turn up every Sunday for coaching and play matches. apetito Engineer Lee York said “It is a good age group and hopefully will stay together as they grow up” The Staff Foundation helped the Club buy the new rugby shirts as well as training equipment.

POND LIFE RAISES £1000

Pond Life is the name of a Harley Davidson Club based at The Red Lion in Pensford, Bristol. On 14th July they held a motor bike rally and enthusiasts brought along their ‘pride and joy’ - from despatch bikes used in the Second World War to the latest Harley models. The Foundation donated a flat screen television as first prize in the raffle which raised £1000 for Marie Curie Cancer Trust.

It was a great day according to the nominator Vicki Sopp, Portbury, ‘It was one of the few lovely summer days. We opened at 11- 00am and finished with a band playing in the evening’, she said.

GAZEBO FOR AVON VALLEY RUNNERS

Joyce Field, accounts dept, has completed 5 marathons, runs 3 times a week and is a member of Avon Valley Runners. The Staff Foundation helped the Club purchase a gazebo. ‘It gets lots of use’ said Joyce, accounts department, ‘from providing shelter for timing officials at the end of a race, to a changing room, and even as a shelter to stop club members getting wet eating their fish and chips after a relay race!’
