Health & Safety
It is policy of apetito UK Ltd. to conduct its work in such a way as to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the health, safety and welfare of all its employees whilst at work, and of any other persons not directly employed, who might be affected by the company's operations. The company regards its staff as a key resource, recognises its statutory obligations and fully accepts the responsibilities it has for the health and safety of all employees, thereby attempting to minimise the incidence of all workplace risks.
The Board of Management recognise and accept their responsibilities for health and safety; they will as far as is reasonably practicable:-
- implement a system of proactive health and safety management and control
- provide a safe system of work that is without risks to health
- maintain all workplaces and work equipment in a safe condition
- provide and maintain safe means of access to and egress from the workplace
- ensure the safe handling, storage and use of all articles and substances
- provide information, instruction, supervision and training to ensure that work may be carried out safely and without risks to health
- consult with employees on matters affecting their health and safety
- provide the organisation necessary to carry out this policy
- delegate individual duties as outlined.
- Revise and review this policy based upon the findings of active monitoring of its implementation
- Strive for continuous improvement in health and safety provision within the company
- Properly implemented the safety policy should ensure that good standards are maintained at the workplace. The full co-operation and involvement of all persons employed is required to ensure no unnecessary risks or danger.
- All employees are required to:
- observe all laid down procedures for work and the precautions to be taken
- use all equipment correctly
- use safety aids, appliances, equipment and protective clothing provided
- report unsafe conditions, defects, immediately to line manager
- seek advice if in doubt
- co-operate with management to maintain standards required by Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974
- adhere to the company's safety procedures and instructions
Every employee is reminded of his personal responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act. i.e.
- to take reasonable care of the health and safety of himself, and any other persons who may be affected by his acts or omissions whilst at work.
- to co-operate in respect of any duty imposed on the employer.
- not to interfere with or misuse anything provided in the interests of health, safety or welfare.
