We also provide a frozen meal delivery service to the public via our franchise Wiltshire Farm Foods and a community meals delivery service through Local Authorities via apetito Services.

50 years of apetito

Launched over 50 years ago, apetito is a global organisation with businesses in the UK, Germany, The Netherlands, France and Canada.

The apetito Group

The apetito group, comprises of businesses in Germany, The Netherlands, France, the UK and Canada.  The food flavours and menu preferences of our meals is influenced by locality with the creation of rich, regional dishes paramount in each country apetito is operating.

The group was founded in Germany with the Head Office in Rheine.  The UK Head Office is in Trowbridge, Wiltshire where the majority of our products are manufactured, and recipes developed by our team of restaurant-quality chefs.

What's our history?

1958 - apetito AG founded in Germany.

1994 - apetito Services formed to gain local authority meals on wheels businesses

1995 - Westminster Meals Limited became the first private contractor to successfully bid for a complete meals on wheels service (Westminster City Council).

1996 - apetito AG takes its first steps in the UK and acquires Walden's Wiltshire Foods, supplier of pies and pastries, and meals for local authorities.

1998 - Westminster Meals Limited acquired by apetito UK and changes its name to apetito Services.

1996-2002 - Expansion of apetito Services by winning 11 boroughs in the Southeast.

2002-2004 - apetito Services expans away from Southeast into Peterborough, Leicestershire, West Berkshire and Swansea.

2003 - apetito UK acquires Butcher and Baker Foods Limited, in Dudley, West Midlands: suppliers of frozen baked and unbaked pies and pastries to wholesalers.

2004 - Butcher and Baker Foods Limted becomes apetito Foodservice Limited.
