People 'encouraged' to sample care home nutrition
19 Jan, 2011
Care home nutrition may be one of the items people consider when looking for a residence suitable for a parent or relative.
Tim Street, who has worked in the care home industry for a number of years, advised people who have never been into a residential home to visit several before coming to a conclusion.
He told the Daily Mirror: "Make sure both you and your relative will feel happy there. Try and get a sense of how they will accommodate your relative rather than the relative just fitting into how they do things there."
Also on his list of things to do is a suggestion that it may be sensible to ask to stay for lunch or be given the chance to sample the food that is on offer.
Residential home catering may be one of the factors that needs to be considered at a new care home property set to be built in West Byfleet, Surrey.
