Frozen food has many nutritional benefits, one expert has stated.
Director general at the British Frozen Food Federation Brian Young said sales of the provision are growing, because awareness about frozen food is increasing.
"Frozen offers competitive prices, year-round price stability and availability and opportunities to improve portion control and reduce waste," he added.
Mr Young remarked the quality and taste of frozen produce is "better than ever", due to improvements in freezing technology.
He noted there are now more reasons to choose frozen over fresh and the misconception and stigma surrounding the fayre has now lifted, because of campaigns demonstrating the quality of frozen raw ingredients.
Experts recently advised people to choose frozen meals that are low in fat and observed individuals should pick products that have 400 calories or less.
The guidance suggested consumers eat dishes that contain plenty of vegetables, whole grains such as brown rice and lean gilled meats.
