apetito at Homeless ConcernAs part of Community Meals On Wheels week which took place on 3-9 October, apetito gave a helping hand to Emmaus House, Acton Homeless Concern, a charity which provides daily  hot meals to homeless people, as well as those with addiction problems and mental illness.

The theme for this year's Community Meals On Wheels Week was 'No one should go hungry'.  Each of our service depots across the UK were encouraged to get involved and Barrie Tottman, Service Centre Manager, apetito Services Hounslow wanted to do something a little different this year so  he and his team decided to contact Homeless Concern and ask if they could provide a hot meal for their clients.

Ian Green, manager of Homeless Concern, was delighted with the offer and allowed us to come in and provide one of the daily meals.  In the video below, Ian talks about the vital service they offer to the homeless within the community and ensuring their clients are properly catered for with nutritious food.

apetito served around 200-230 meals that day and everyone thoroughly enjoyed them.  There was a lot of great feedback, especially around the choice of meals on offer, as Ian Green says in the video below "...they couldn't believe they had choices for the first time...we can't afford to do that normally".

We are really pleased we were able to work with and help Homeless Concern and that everyone enjoyed their meals.
