Best of the best

We’re delighted with our recent win at the Food Manufacturing Excellence Awards.

apetito beat fierce competition to be named Food Manufacturing Company of the Year at the 2010 awards ceremony, which took place at London’s newly refurbished Savoy Hotel on Tuesday 2nd November. We were also named the UK’s best manufacturer of frozen foods in the industry’s equivalent of the Oscars,attended by over 400 industry guests.

Switched on to a sustainable future

We’ve shaved nearly a quarter (22%) off the electricity it takes us to make a meal in our Trowbridge factory. We’re aiming to do much more to get greenhouse gas emissions further down the line, but it’s a good moment to think about how we got to this point.

Spotlight

The spotlight is on Simon Myatt, National Account Manager.

Simon has worked for apetito for 7 years, and in the healthcare division for a year, so is a highly experienced member of the team.

An important aspect of Simon’s job is interacting with customers. Simon commented, “I love the fact that every day is different, every day presents a different challenge. Working with people who are passionate about what they do is fantastic.”

Outside of apetito, Simon is an avid sea fisherman, recently out and catching Bass, Dogfish, Mackerel and Pollock. “The Bass was fantastic, simply cooked with bay, rosemary, lemon and plenty of seasoning, cooked on a bed of stock infused potatoes and served with wilted spinach (with a hint if nutmeg) - delicious! As you can probably tell food is my passion and being around food every day is fantastic. I’m definitely in the right job, particularly when I get to eat our new Fish Pie every day!”
