apetito achieves ZERO non-conformances in BRC audit
02 Sep, 2010
apetito’s Manufacturing Department achieves ZERO non-conformances in its annual BRC audit.
apetito are proud to announce the results of their recent BRC factory audit, conducted by EFSIS. apetito commissions annual audits of our premises and systems to ensure we are working to the BRC Global Standard for Food Safety Issue 5.
This standard is recognised globally for both purchasers and suppliers. The standard requires that we operate a documented quality management system, adopt HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points), to control factory environment, process and personnel.
This global standard for food safety is regarded as the benchmark for best practice in the food industry. During audits, any non conformances are noted by the auditors, raised with BRC and only once the non conformance has been rectified will the certification be released.
During our current audit, carried out on 11th/12th August, we had ZERO non conformances raised, putting us in the top 0.2% of all businesses audited to this standard.
apetito’s Group Technical Manager, Iain Mortimer, was delighted at the result:
“This is truly an outstanding result that could not have been achieved without true teamwork to make sure that the organisation and cleanliness of the factory and every job being undertaken was completed to the highest standard. It is therefore true to say that everyone - whether directly involved or not played an essential role in this achievement. I’d love to say ‘Well Done’ to everyone, but that would be a major understatement for something that very few businesses will ever achieve.”
