apetito Chef Of The Year Competition Heats Up!

Chefs competing in apetito's Chef Of The Yearapetito's Chef Of The Year competition entered its final stage as 5 chefs took part in round three. The chefs taking part were Ian Carter, Rob Baker, Marcin Domanski, Jason Carter and Paul Jerram.

Round three of the competition required the chefs to prepare a main dish of lasagne followed by bread and butter pudding for the dessert, with the more adventurous chefs prepared their own pasta sheets for the lasagne.

All competitors delivered both courses on time and went off for a well deserved coffee while the judging took place.  Again, the standard of the cooking was very high with the judges awarding  Rob Baker first place for his bread and butter pudding, closely followed by Ian Carter.

The final heat of the competition took place on 25 October and the competitors were Rob Rogowski, Denise Bishop, Rob Baker, Norbert Tabis and Liam Newble.

The chefs were given a list of ingredients that included hake, brill, pheasant, pork fillet, pancetta, butternut squash, Arborio rice, chicken thighs, apples, pears, eggs, garlic, onions, assorted vegetables, seasonings and herbs.

Using a variety of these ingredients the chefs had to prepare and cook a starter, main course and dessert.

But we can't tell you who won just yet, as the winner will be announced at apetito's Success Through Teamwork Awards ceremony taking place on Wed 2nd November.
