apetito Chef Of The Year Competition - Round Two!

Chefs taking part in apetito's Chef Of The Year competitionapetito's Chef Of The Year competition hots up with another 5 apetito chefs taking part in round two.

The five chefs competing in the second round were Robert Saga, Denise Gill, Jan Stovold, Liam Newble and Shaun Cook.

Each chef had two hours to make Minestrone Soup and Sole Veronique and after a shorting briefing session by Shiva Osborne, apetito's Development Chef, the competition got under way.

Chef being judgedThe chefs demonstrated their skills by filleting a fresh Sole to use in their Sole Veronique dish which they all completed in style.

It was a tense and gruelling two hours but all chefs completed their dishes on time and took a well earned break while the judges, that included Shiva Osborne, Development Chef, Jon Knight, Production Manager and Graham Forrester, Manufacturing Director, tasted the dishes and had the tricky task of choosing a winner.

 

It was a hard fought competition, but in the end the judges felt Denise Gill had the winning dishes closely followed by Liam Newble who was awarded second place - congratulations to both chefs.

The last round before the final takes place on 5th October.
