Our Values

We’re passionate about good nutrition. It is the pillar of our business and is something we believe should be at the heart of every meal. We believe that through delicious and nutritious meals we can enhance and improve the well-being of vulnerable people in care, in hospitals and at home.

To show commitment to our values, we employ our own in-house dietitian and registered nutritionist to create and ensure that all our meals are not only delicious but that they also meet the nutritional standards required by the British Dietetic Association (BDA), the National Association of Care Catering and the Hospital Food Standards Panel.

Our Service

Our success stems from our love for providing excellent customer service. Building close relationships and learning about our customers is central to our service philosophy. Because we believe that good nutrition is vital for the health and well-being of society's most vulnerable, and everyone deserves lovingly-prepared meals that cater to their personal tastes and dietary requirements. Regardless of whether they’re in care or recovering in Hospital.

That’s why, when you choose apetito it becomes a partnership: you will be given a dedicated account manager who will work with you to tailor our support to your business or organisation. We help customers make the most of our products and services, from cutting down waste to assisting with nutritional advice and planning meals for individual dietary needs.

You can read more about our happy clients on the apetito case studies page.

Our Food

We pride ourselves on producing high-quality food that’s delicious, nutritious, safe and varied. That is why all of our meals are frozen within an hour of being made (to lock in nutrition and flavour) and why we offer so many different ranges: because we believe that everybody deserves a warm and delicious meal that will not only be nourishing, but will give them enjoyment.

  • Free From meals, for customers with allergies.
  • Mini Meal Extra, smaller meals packed with energy.
  • Ethnic meals, that include kosher and halal options.

We care about the safety of our customers as much as we care about the quality of our food. That’s why we run two CLAS-accredited laboratories on our site to ensure that no batch of food is released until it has been thoroughly tested and approved by our expert technicians. Moreover, our strict labelling means we can trace ingredients up and down the supply chain.

As a company, we continue to reduce and simplify all the ingredients across our whole range. We do this to ensure that any unnecessary additives, sugar and salt is removed from our meals without compromising on the taste.

Our Environmental & Ethical Stance

We are one of the only food companies in the UK’s health and social care sector to become a Member of the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI). A leading alliance of companies, trade unions and NGOs that promotes respect for workers' rights around the globe.

We are also proud to be a member of the Living Wage Foundation which sees apetito join an elite group of FTSE100 companies and public-sector organisations who are also members.

No part of our business escapes our determination to improve the world we live in and minimise our environmental impact. That is why we have implemented a returnable crate system which has removed 1.2 million cardboard boxes each year from our business and solar panels at our Trowbridge headquarters to help reduce our carbon footprint.
