"I joined the company as a placement project engineer in the manufacturing project team in July 2017. As part of the team, I participated in factory extension projects including; existing distribution capacity enhancement, meal factory extension and feasibility studies on a new distribution centre."

My development during the graduate programme

During my placement, I was given the opportunity to attend professional training courses, to develop my skills with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project. apetito has also provided me with all the support I’ve needed to become a Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM).

The working environment in apetito is so different from other companies. It’s nothing like the ‘corporate world’, it’s more like a family and I’ve been made to feel welcome from day one.  I am lucky enough to be returning to a full-time role now that I have graduated from university.

Manufacturing Operations at apetito

Based in Trowbridge, our Manufacturing team includes five main production areas including high care food production areas, working 24 hours, 5 days per week on a three-shift basis. There are over 275 full time employees across a diverse range of operations including Pie, Sweets and Meals; with 13 million kilograms of material going through our kitchens each year to supply these. Each week our 15 different production lines produce 2 million units - 900,000 pies & sausage rolls, 250,000 sweets, 850,000 ready-made meals with over 1,300 SKU’s. With a good capital investment programme, we are lucky to be able to review and improve our equipment and processes so that we can continue to ‘make a real difference’.
