The Preparation are keen to promote excellent team work by employing people who have a positive attitude, who are prepared to learn a number of skills so that they are able to work in various positions within the department. Main purpose of the job:

To own the low risk wash - up area in Preparation Department by ensuring the equipment (such as, tubs for butchery, tubs for dispensary, tubs for kitchens, racks, trays, pallets etc) is cleaned on time to the right quality and hygiene standard. The area must always have segregation of clean and dirty equipment, 5S of the area must be always adhered to (all things in the right place). The tidyiness of the area should be at the highest standard and the washing equipment must always be ready to be used.

The person in this role will be expected to work in other roles within the area, depending on the requirements of production and business of wash up area.

This role is expected to work Monday – Friday 06:00 – 14:00.

  • To clean, sanitise and wash tubs (butchery, dispensary, kitchens), metal trays and racks
  • To clean, sanitise and wash tote bins
  • To empty the food waste bin
  • To keep the cleaning machinery clean and empty filters
  • To keep area tidy and all things in the right place
  • Ensure area around the wash - up is clear from waste or water
  • Adhere to Health and Safety standards within the area
  • Complete relevant paperwork for the area



  • Good maths and English skills
  • Positive ‘can do’ attitude

  • Undertake any training made available/organised
