Tim Willcox, Retail Sales and Operations Manager at Wiltshire Farm Foods in Christchurch recently conquered his fear of heights by doing a skydive for Wiltshire-based Alzheimer’s Support. The charity is one which is close to his heart, as his nan lived with the disease before passing away in 2017.
With Tim at the Salisbury course was his 9-year-old son, Jack, and thankfully he was rewarded with sunny skies – a blessing given his fear of heights:
“My nan was the most giving and caring woman I have ever had the privilege of knowing. And she was the very best cook too! She was a big royalist and lifetime member of the RNLI. She was incredibly one of the lucky few who got to fly concord too.
“Once she became very unwell, I went to live with her and care for her so she could stay at home as that is all she wanted. We managed to keep her there until the end.”
The whole team in Christchurch has been getting behind him ahead of his skydive. His depot supervisor Debbie Osmond says:
“We all knew how much Tim loved his nan – he really did go above and beyond for her. She was a really special lady and would be incredibly proud of what Tim’s achieved with this skydive – especially considering he’s a total wimp when it comes to heights!”
Tim has smashed his target of £350, having raised £429. And it sounds like this won’t be the last of his fund-raising activities for Alzheimer’s Support:
“There is nothing I would say no to for raising money for this charity.”
