Allergy UK state that around 5 - 8% of children in the UK live with a food allergy and 20% of all severe allergic reactions to food happen whilst at school, demonstrating why it’s so vital that schools are aware of how to effectively cater for and manage food allergies in schools.
This year’s Allergy Awareness Week’s campaign is ‘I Wish I Knew’ which focuses on raising understanding that allergies can strike at any point and that it is important to intervene immediately when allergy symptoms appear.
